Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF Level 3) Diploma Course

The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF) is for those members of the school workforce who directly support teaching and learning of pupils in schools in an area that requires specialist knowledge and skills. It will allow successful candidates to work in roles that offer specialist support for pupils in primary, secondary or special schools.

The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF) Qualification incorporates the units in the level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools and 4 additional units giving this course a more detailed approach to the subject matter. Upon successful completion of our NCFE CACHE  Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF) Level 3 course you will receive a qualification listed on the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework) at level 3 (Qualification Reference Number: 501/0476/7). This course has been assigned 44 credits.

50-Hour Placement

All learners must have a work placement arranged to be able to gather the evidence for the course. The position can be either paid or unpaid in order to complete the qualification in a suitable setting.

You are required to undertake a minimum of 50 hours work experience within a school. The placement will need to be in an infant, primary, junior or secondary school, supporting learners between the ages of 4/5 (reception/EYFS class) and 16. You can support children in academies as well as mainstream, independent or specialist settings.

Please note: the work experience cannot be achieved in any of the following settings:

• Nursery

• Pre-school

• After School Club

• Holiday Club

• College

• University

• Any other external learning sources i.e. open learning colleges, Sunday schools etc.

What Can I Do After Taking This Course?

Become a teaching assistant. After successfully completing our Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 3, you could apply for a teaching assistant position within a nursery, infant or junior school, special school, secondary school or independent school, earning up to £18,000*/year.

Gain a promotion. If you are already working as a teaching assistant you may be eligible to work without supervision, for a promotion to Senior Teaching Assistant, SeniorLearning Support Assistant or Senior Special Educational Needs Assistant, and for an increase in pay.

Study for a foundation degree. If you wish to attend university and obtain a degree, you may be able to study for a foundation degree.
